I know I’ve gone all out with Rihanna today. My 3 post’s are about her, haha. But my question in this post. Is The ‘Te Amo’ video Trashy?
My answer is NO, Its nothing like what people are making it out to be.
I was just reading through comments on Music Fix nine msn. And some of them, well Most of them pissed me off. All of these Mothers and Fathers worrying about they’re children. Its got nothing to do with kids to be honest.
Rihanna is an entertainer and will do what she has to do. If people dont like that, then simply dont watch her videos. If they think a bit of lesbian action in the Te Amo video was bad, How about they give Christina Aguilera – Not myself tonight a watch. Maybe its the fact that women and men that disliked the video simply becuase Rihanna was exploring a different world, Could it be that the offended viewers just Dislike gay’s?
- Is Te Amo slutty? No
- Is Te Amo offensive? No
- Is Rihanna a bad influence? No.
- Is Te Amo creative? YES!
Here are some comments from offended viewers on music fix.
This is exactly what we need. More please. Teach our children. Especially little girls. They should be introduced to this stuff as young as possible. I emplore to all parents to show their children these videos and teach them it’s normal human nature to behave like this.
I am totally discussed to think that anyone thinks that this is ok to let young kids watch.
For adults over 18, very cool. But for Rihanna’s primary market, no way, what happened to good music and good talent. I hate to say it and choke but thank god for Justin *** (yes my spelling) innocent good music that a father can at a length, feel safe knowing his daughter is listening and watching. Note the kids think the same, Good image is good business.
Now here are some comments from viewers who actually liked the clip.
Why is this video so bad? Clearly it explores sexuality in a way that can be confronting to some people, but why does this have to come down to play for publicity. She is Rihanna when is she not in the news? and just putting it out there, but the lyrics are clearly about a lesbian affair. So how about people grow up and realise it’s the music business, people are just going to push more and more boundaries. Would you condemn Madoonna for her video clip to Erotica or Vogue? I don’t think so
This chick is amazing by what she does. the meaning of the song is clearly that kind of vibe so she went with it. Shes great love her.
Seriously, I’ve seen a lot more intimate acts in other film clips with “straight” singers. Good on her for actually doing something different, and showing that a relationship can be with someone of the same sex, unlike the majority of flim clips out there at the moment. To those people who believe she shouldn’t be flaunting her sexuality this way, its really unfair. Even if it is a publicity act, we need something different out there to suit everyone. Aparantly according to some of the comments on here its “***” to flaunt your sexuality with a girl, but when its a straight couple its more acceptable, or if its a guy its again more acceptable. Makes you think..
Blokes are liking it. fat girls are hating it. anyone who thinks this is softcore porn is just silly. I like it, its got a nice darker theme to it. Plus what would be better her just standing there singing?
Oh come on, it’s a tasteful video compared to the likes of Christina Aguleria. I watched this and didn’t think anything of this. As for kids watching this stuff, it’s time parent’s take responsibility for their children. Don’t let your kid watch the music channels if you don’t want them seeing stuff like this. A majority of the time the Music shows on free to air cut out what they consider too risque fot TV, anyway. So I wouldn’t worry about kids seeing it. Also you don’t see her in the media alot. Just too many critical people in the world these day’s, nothing is ever good enough, and people have to put a negative spin on everything.
I think the video clip is way over done! But having said that though, the lyrics are amazing!!! Well done Rihanna!!! People need to listen closely to the lyrics and read between the lines. She is expressing her feelings on gay people in general and I love the lines “I move under the light because I understand, that we all need love, and I’m not afraid, I feel the love but I don’t feel that way.” These lines alone are expressing that she is completely okay that a woman is in love with her, it doesn’t bother her at all but she doesn’t feel the same way. There should be many people who learn from Rihanna’s example! The gay community is just like everyone else, everyone deserves to find love and happiness no matter who they are…not one person should be singled out because of their race, gender, sexuality, culture, religion…that is what is wrong with the world today…ppl are too judgemental and find too many ways to discriminate others instead of accepting them as they are!!!
